3. Brian Lewerke keeps the same pace

Through one month, Brian Lewerke is averaging just over 250 yards per game and he has 10 touchdowns with just one interception and a career-high 60 percent completion rate. He will continue that pace in October against two of the best defenses in the country.

Many would expect him to take a step back and come down to earth a little bit, but he’s proven himself as one of the top passers in the conference this season and he’s not going to let up.

Against Ohio State, he’ll be forced to pass quite a bit with the Spartans trailing early on, so he’ll approach that 250-300-yard mark and against Wisconsin, he’ll hit some deep balls to bolster his numbers. He might throw a couple of picks, but he’s not going to average one per game. He’ll have to avoid the turnover-happy Ohio State secondary.

Lastly, Lewerke has always played well against Penn State and he’ll do so yet again in East Lansing, putting up 300 yards passing with a couple of touchdowns.

By the end of the month, he’ll have over 2,000 yards on the season along with 17 touchdowns and three interception. Not too shabby for a kid people gave up on last year.
