Michigan State basketball could receive some good news on Tuesday evening with the announcement of four-star center Mady Sissoko.

If you’re wondering when Michigan State basketball’s 2020 recruiting class could grow to two after Jalen Terry’s commitment back in April, that answer could come as soon as Tuesday night.

Four-star center Mady Sissoko, ranked the No. 34 overall recruit and sixth-best center in the class by 247Sports, is announcing his college decision on Tuesday night which could make Spartan fans happy.

The Utah-based prospect is down to four schools — MSU, BYU, Kansas and Memphis — and is fresh off a visit to East Lansing where he attended the Western Michigan game on Saturday with Tom Izzo. He seemed to have narrowed things down even before this visit, reportedly canceling trips to Memphis and Kansas.

This is huge for Michigan State because that could very well mean he’s leaning toward the Spartans.

If you believe in the Crystal Ball system at 247Sports, he is all green right now. There have been nine predictions and all are favoring Michigan State.

This addition would be crucial for the Spartans in 2020-21. He would help replace Xavier Tillman if he decides to leave early for the NBA and if he doesn’t, Sissoko will have one heck of a mentor with a high IQ to take him under his wing.

And Sissoko’s game is something that is made for the Big Ten.

Sissoko has a man’s body already at 6-9 and 230 pounds and he’s a flat-out rim protector who also has a nice offensive game. He’s not just a layup and dunk guy, he can turn around and hit a baby hook, too.

Michigan State’s 2020 class could get a major bump on Tuesday night with Sissoko, but don’t count out home-state program BYU yet as he took his other visit to Provo. Still, the Spartans are on commitment watch.
