3. Two different backs reach 100-yard mark in a game

Not one, but two different running backs will reach 100 yards during the month of September. While that may not seem like a bold prediction for most teams, Michigan State hasn’t had success on the ground since the Maryland game a year ago when Connor Heyward broke out for over 100 yards.

After the opening game, it’s fairly obvious the Spartans’ offensive line has a long way to go, but if they can improve even slightly throughout the month, the backfield should have some success.

There’s plenty of talent in the backfield with guys like Eli Collins, Anthony Williams, La’Darius Jefferson and Heyward. For none of these guys to reach 100 yards in a game this month would be a massive disappointment but I’m going with two of them, at the least, to reach that mark — at least one time.

I’m going with Collins has a breakout performer. He proved in the opening game that he has some scoot to him and he knows how to find the holes and hit them hard. He’ll hit 100 yards at least once and he’ll be joined by either Heyward or Williams — my bet would be on the latter if he can get healthy.

Two different 100-yard rushers in September? Yes, please.
