Michigan State basketball: Previewing 3 key 2019-20 non-conference games
By Nate Rhoades
Kansas Jayhawks (Nov. 27)
Michigan State and Kansas are not slated to go head-to-head this year but they are on opposite ends of the bracket in the Maui Invitational. They are on a collision course to play each other in the title game.
If and when they square off then and the rankings stay as they are now, it will be the No. 1 vs. No. 2 team in the land. It will be an incredible game to watch and you will not want to miss this one.
The Jayhawks will be a strong defensive team led by one of the Big 12’s top defenders, Marcus Garrett. He will be a junior this year and he can do just about anything Bill Self asks him to do.
Kansas will also have Devon Dotson back for his sophomore campaign and will have more experience in leading a team and he is not afraid to put the ball up to score. Another player the Spartans will have to look out for is the 3-point shooting ability from Isaiah Moss. The Spartans will be used to Moss and know his style of play since he is a transfer from Iowa but he can still knock down those deep shots to turn the momentum.
This game against Kansas will be a back-and-forth affair. The team that will win will most likely be the one with the ball in their hands last. Both of these teams have experience, they have depth and they have the players to take them all the way to the end of March.
Could this be a preview of the national championship?
Outcome: Kansas by 1 on the last shot of the game
