5. Targets galore

Although last year’s offense would argue to the contrary, Michigan State has a plethora of targets on offense for Brian Lewerke.

The Spartan offense should be incredibly improved and it has to do with a quarterback having healthy targets to throw the ball to. Cody White, Darrell Stewart Jr., Jalen Nailor, Cam Chambers and Laress Nelson at receiver, along with Tre’Von Morgan and Tre Mosley — both incoming freshmen — and Matt Dotson and Trenton Gillison at tight end.

Even out of the backfield, Anthony Williams Jr. showed the ability to catch the ball in space and make things happen. He could be a nice all-purpose back for the Spartans along with Elijah Collins, Connor Heyward and La’Darius Jefferson.

Michigan State has plenty of solid targets and that’s going to help the offense tremendously. A couple of solid tight ends, running backs who can catch the ball and a crop of receivers who are capable of moving the chains.

This offense should see a major uptick.
