Four-star quarterback Chubba Purdy is closing in on a decision and here’s why he should pick Michigan State football over other options.

Michigan State football watched as four-star 2020 quarterback target Michael Alaimo committed to Purdue on Wednesday afternoon and it seemed like the staff was taking a major risk.

That meant that the staff had to go that much harder for a guy like Chubba Purdy. The four-star Gilbert, Ariz., native was on campus a couple of weeks ago and there’s talk that he has been prioritized over a guy like Alaimo or even CJ Stroud.

On Thursday, Purdy announced that he’d be making a commitment decision on Friday.

Why should Purdy pick the Spartans?

5. Offensive line only getting better

The offensive line was a weakness for Michigan State last season, but people seem to forget that everyone is coming back and injuries derailed this unit in 2018.

With the same starters returning in 2019, the line should improve and there’s plenty of depth, padded by the incoming recruiting class which is arguably the best in terms of offensive line talent. The Spartans landed some of the nation’s top offensive linemen in 2019 and that’ll be in place when Chubba Purdy gets to town.

If he wants to be well-protected, he just has to look at the future of the offensive line, especially now that the proven Jim Bollman is in place.
