Jaheim Thomas is one of the best linebackers in the 2020 class, ranked No. 20 in terms of outside linebackers, per 247Sports. He’s also listed as the No. 277 overall prospect and fourth-best prospect in the state of Ohio.

If we’re talking about top targets and a potential wish list, this kid has to come to mind. He looked to be headed to Ohio State for a while, but didn’t include the Buckeyes on his top schools list which was a shock.

Although Urban Meyer is gone, top recruits from the state of Ohio are going to tab Ohio State as a dream school for its rich tradition and because, well, Ryan Day hasn’t been doing all that poor of a job on the recruiting trail.

In Thomas’ top seven, which he released on June 2, he listed LSU, Maryland, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville and Tennessee along with the Spartans. We’ll know more about where he’s leaning after his official visit to East Lansing, but right now his recruitment is relatively wide open.

The Spartans actually have a decent shot at landing this kid with the Buckeyes out of the race.
