1. Cassius Winston is back

This is the most obvious reason there is. Arguably the best returning player in all of college basketball will be in East Lansing for his senior season.

Cassius Winston was named Big Ten Player of the Year as a junior, averaging about 19 points per game and shooting a solid clip from the floor. He could drill threes, take the ball to the rack and he even averaged 7.5 assists per game. He got his teammates involved and was a big reason the offense flourished even without Josh Langford.

Having Langford healthy is actually another major reason Michigan State is in good shape for another Final Four run next season, but Winston’s return has to be No. 1.

Where would Michigan State have been without Winston in 2018-19? There’s no chance this team would be able to replace Cassius, who averaged nearly 34 minutes per game, and still make it to the Final Four. He put the team on his back and carried it to the finish line.
