The last time these two teams met, Michigan State was one of the top teams in the nation, ranked in the top-10 following a big road win over Notre Dame. That was also the season when the loss to Wisconsin sparked a downward spiral and the Spartans finished 3-9.

Michigan State is hoping for better luck this time around and it’ll all depend on the play of the quarterbacks. The Badgers will be starting a new gunslinger this season after Alex Hornibrook transferred — he was the quarterback who beat the Spartans in 2016 as a freshman. Michigan State, on the other hand, is hoping to get Brian Lewerke back to form.

Winning at Camp Randall is a daunting task, though.

The Spartans will put up quite the fight as they’ve never backed down from Wisconsin on the road. In fact, the last time the Spartans played in Madison, they escaped with an overtime win. Could they have the same luck this time around?

Michigan State will slow down Heisman contender Jonathan Taylor enough to make things close, but the Badgers get the last laugh.

Final Score: Michigan State 24, Wisconsin 27 (5-2, 2-2)
