Are you enjoying watching Josiah Scott in a Spartan uniform? Well, cherish it while you can because his time in East Lansing could be coming to a close sooner rather than later.

We watched as Justin Layne was drafted in the third round (a major steal) by the Pittsburgh Steelers after a strong junior season and many believed he was a top-five cornerback in the country. He played across the field from another elite cornerback and one who could very well be a Day 1 or Day 2 selection, if all goes as planned in 2019.

Scott played in just five games, burning his redshirt in the Redbox Bowl because there’s little chance he’d be around for two, let alone three, more seasons anyways.

In those five games, he finished with 13 tackles, two interceptions and nine pass breakups. Quarterbacks just didn’t want to throw his way and when they did, they usually regretted it.

It was a lose-lose situation for opposing offenses with Layne and Scott manning the two cornerback spots and the safeties being All-Big Ten performers as well.

Expect a big year from this kid and for the NFL to come calling shortly after.
