3. Michigan State would be national title favorite

No team in college basketball returns as much as Michigan State does in 2019-20. The Spartans lose two seniors in Kenny Goins and Matt McQuaid who averaged just less than 10 points per game each, but they bring back Josh Langford, Xavier Tillman, Aaron Henry, Kyle Ahrens a talented crop of freshmen (turning sophomores) and potentially Nick Ward.

With Cassius Winston added to that group, the Spartans will be more than just Big Ten title favorites, but national championship favorites.

All the way-too-early rankings have Michigan State ranked either No. 1 or No. 2, and that’s even before Winston and Ward make decisions. Just imagine the type of love the Spartans will get if Winston comes back — and even more added to that if Ward returns.

Unfinished business plays into this one a bit. Winston didn’t come to Michigan State to win a couple of Big Ten titles and then get close to a national championship and then call it a career, he came here to win the national title and put the program back on top.

How could he say no to returning as the favorites to win a national title?
