Although he may not have had the recruiting accolades as some of Michigan State’s other running backs on the depth chart, true freshman Anthony Williams Jr. enrolled early and is already turning heads.

All throughout the spring game, he looked like the most explosive option in the backfield.

Sure, La’Darius Jefferson looked solid and probably played his way into No. 1 consideration along with Connor Heyward and Elijah Collins, but Williams Jr. looked like the perfect all-purpose back.

The Chicago, Ill., native showcased speed, a good burst in the open field and moves to boot. Just check out this spin move he dropped on Dominique Long, nearly taking out his knees.

This kid can catch, run and make people miss. He’s going to have a spot in the backfield for years to come and he may have just played himself into valuable carries this season.
