The Human Joystick. The Magician. Those are just two of the nicknames Laress Nelson has earned from fellow teammates and if he can live up to them, he could be a special receiver at MSU.

Darrell Stewart Jr. came up with the nickname and it looks like it’s stuck. With nicknames such as those, there’s no way Nelson is going to be anything less than intriguing to watch. He could make defenders miss with ease which is something Michigan State desperately needs on special teams as well as short passing situations.

Nelson could be a slot threat that could take a five-yard dump over the middle and turn it into a 20-25 yard gain.

Speed, sticky hands and elusiveness are all traits that he possesses and it’s going to be fun to watch this kid grow into a reliable threat in the passing game. Could he become Michigan State’s Golden Tate (YAC extraordinaire)?
