Michigan State Basketball: 5 reasons Spartans will beat Texas Tech
4. Spartans will thrive from long-range
The 3-point shooting is going to make a big difference in this one. Who is going to make the most shots from distance?
I’ll say this, Michigan State is going to get more open looks with Texas Tech’s defense constantly crashing on would-be drivers, but it’s up to the Spartans to take advantage of that.
If Michigan State can make between 40-50 percent of their threes which I believe it can, it will come away with a win. The Spartans just need to make sure they take advantage of those open looks and guys like Matt McQuaid, Aaron Henry, Kenny Goins and even Gabe Brown make their shots.
On top of that, the Spartans will defend the perimeter well and not allow guys like Davide Moretti or Matt Mooney to get open looks. Henry and McQuaid will also shut down open looks for Jarrett Culver.
