1. This team has people believing it can win the title

Michigan State has people believing. When was the last time there was this much confidence in a team that has zero superstars and just a handful of solid role players? It’s been a while, dating back to maybe 2014-15, but the Spartans are playing incredible basketball right now, turning doubters into believers.

If you were skeptical after the Bradley win, you weren’t alone. If you were nervous about facing Minnesota again, you weren’t alone. If you thought LSU was a matchup nightmare, you most definitely weren’t alone. Now if you think Duke is going to run all over Michigan State like it probably would have in the Champions Classic to start the year, you’re crazy.

After fielding doubt all season long and exceeding expectations constantly, this Michigan State team has people believing in a national title.

Following Josh Langford’s season-ending diagnosis, everyone seemed to give up on title hopes. Then Nick Ward went down for a spell and even a Big Ten title was a long-shot. But now? Everything has changed.
