3. This team is mentally tough

This team is so well connected, and so apt to deal with adversity, it would be a shame if their season ended this weekend. The Spartans have made comeback after comeback this year — three times to their biggest rival.

Down by six with all the momentum going to Michigan at Crisler Center, down by 12 at Breslin and down by 13 at United Center. Yet when the game ended, Michigan State won all three contests.

They are mentally strong, they refuse to give up, and they figure situations out. They avoided a close upset at the hands of Bradley, that should help their mental toughness. They beat a Minnesota team that forced them into turnover after turnover.

That’ll help them adjust moving forward. After dealing with the odd circumstances that surrounded the program last year, they have learned from it and grown because of it. Now, all in the clear, they are ready to shine because of it.
