4. Team chemistry is unmatched

Tom Izzo has admitted it, this team is as close-knit as any he’s ever coached and it shows by the way they play. You can tell the difference between a team that doesn’t have much of a relationship off the court and one that does and this Spartan team calls itself a family and they trust each other both on and off the hardwood.

That type of chemistry can go a long way in March and the last time we saw a team this close-knit was back in 2014-15 with Travis Trice leading the way — that team went to the Final Four.

The leaders are present with Kenny Goins, Matt McQuaid, Cassius Winston and even an injured Josh Langford which makes this team much different from last year’s where it was looking for more vocal leaders and that led to an early exit in the tourney.

The fact that this team is so close and there’s no shortage of leaders can only work out in its favor when it comes time for a deep run.

Not to mention, this team has some incredible momentum heading into the tourney.
