3. Champions of second-toughest conference

Obviously the ACC champions are going to get most of the praise when it comes to NCAA Tournament seeding because that’s just how it’s been for the past few years, but the Big Ten didn’t quite get enough love this year for being the second-best league in America.

Teams like Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Maryland, Purdue, Iowa, Ohio State and even Nebraska and Indiana spent time in the AP Top 25 at some point during the season but yet no one is talking about just how tough it was for Michigan State to win the league.

The Spartans won the regular season title with one of the toughest roads to the top, sharing it with Purdue who arguably had the easiest road to the throne.

Purdue won’t be considered for a No. 1 seed because it spent most of the season ranked anywhere from 10-25 while the Spartans have been a staple of the top-10 and are playing for a conference tournament title while the Boilermakers are not.

Michigan State is the champ of the second-toughest conference in America and could bring home a tourney title as well, so why wouldn’t the Spartans get serious consideration?
