Michigan State Basketball: 5 bold predictions for 2019 Big Ten Tournament
4. Kenny Goins makes 50 percent of his 3-point attempts
When Michigan State needs a big shot, Kenny Goins, more often than not, steps up. When the Spartans needed a big shot against Wisconsin earlier in the year, he stepped up to close the door on the Badgers’ comeback effort late in the second half.
On top of that, he’s made big shots against Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Purdue, but he doesn’t get enough love for his shooting touch.
Out of anyone in the Big Ten, Goins has to be one of the most improved all-around players, especially shooters, making 39 percent of his 3-point attempts on the season — he shot 4-of-15 last year after not attempting a single three in his first two seasons.
Goins is going to remain hot in the Big Ten Tournament, making about 50 percent of his 3-point attempts. The Spartan senior will do everything in his power to get back to the tourney title game.
Michigan State will need someone to step up in the clutch and it’s going to be Goins.
