3. Matt McQuaid has a big game

Matt McQuaid is streaky, there’s no doubt about that. The senior captain had one of the best games of his career just last weekend against Minnesota and then disappeared versus Wisconsin in a crucial battle in Madison on Tuesday night.

Michigan State needs more consistency out of its senior leader, but his lack of offense fortunately didn’t cost the Spartans that game against the Badgers.

The senior will get back on track against the Buckeyes, doing one better than his previous performance against Ohio State in early January where he scored 12 points. He’s going to finish with a season-high 19 points to go along with six assists, making five threes in the process.

When McQuaid is making his shots, he’s a walking heat-check. He can sometimes be passive, but when he is on, there’s almost no stopping his trigger.

We will see a red-hot McQuaid on Sunday afternoon as he’ll be one of the main reasons Michigan State races out to a nice lead.
