Michigan State basketball has now lost three straight games but what fixes can be made for the Spartans to turn things around and get back on track?

Losing at Illinois was embarrassing for the already-skidding Spartans, but you can bet that Tom Izzo is more disappointed than anything else. He let a young, scrappy Illini team take it to the Spartans, building a 13-point second half lead before Michigan State stormed back to regain a three-point advantage.

That’s all Michigan State would get as Illinois clawed back with an and-one to tie it up and then two straight clutch 3-pointers to put the game away.

A promising comeback was cut short and the Spartans were handed their third-straight loss on the season, their first since the 2016-17 campaign.

Is it time to panic? Possibly, but luckily there’s plenty of time before the NCAA Tournament to right the ship. Michigan State is playing poorly right now, completely the opposite of the first three months, and there are some obvious fixes to make in order to turn things around in time.

What does Michigan State need to do over the next few weeks, preferably ahead of the Minnesota game later this week, to turn things back in the right direction and stay afloat in the Big Ten title race?
