2. Michigan State fans have become spoiled

Panic began to set in as the final seconds ticked off the clock on Saturday night in East Lansing. The reality was that the Spartans laid an egg against a struggling team on their home court, their second straight loss of the season.

It marked the Spartans’ first losing streak on the year and went to show that no game is a gimme in Big Ten play. Indiana came to play against the Spartans and Michigan State just wasn’t ready.

Panic after losing two straight and hearing news of Josh Langford’s year-ending injury is fair, but some have gone as far as to throw in the towel on the 2018-19 season. I even saw a fan out there calling for Tom Izzo to retire (not kidding) following the loss. Others have admitted defeat on the season, claiming the NCAA Tournament pointless because “they’ll just lose early anyway”.

Fans have become so spoiled that they can’t take one bad loss in a 30-plus game season on the cheek and move on. They’ve forgotten that these types of losses are almost inevitable with how long each season is.

Prime example? Michigan State lost to Wright State back in 1999-2000 and went on to win the national title.

Let’s not forget how well this team has played all year because of one bad loss. They’ll learn from it and move on.
