1. Michigan State beats Michigan, goes 6-1

Three in a row. Michigan State fans, coaches and players are tired of hearing about it. They’ve been asked about it, they’ve spoken about it and they’re ready to put it in the past. Losing to in-state rival Michigan three straight times stings and four straight would be devastating, but the Spartans are going to play some motivated ball to “upset” the Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

Why do I call it an upset as both teams could very well be ranked in the top-five come Feb. 24? Well, because the Wolverines will undoubtedly be favored at home.

It will be one of the most intense matchups in the rivalry and will finish with a two-point victory in favor of the Spartans. Michigan State will put college basketball on notice — if it hadn’t already — which will give the Spartans a 6-1 record in the month of February and 15-2 overall in Big Ten play.

You may be wondering what the one loss in February will be if it’s not Michigan (though these are bold predictions, so predicting a loss to Michigan wouldn’t fit that description), and I’ll tell you it’ll be against a red-hot Wisconsin team.

The Badgers defeated Michigan in Madison to hand the Wolverines their first loss of the year and they still remember the Spartans handling them three times last year and they want revenge. Keep an eye on Feb. 12 as the Badgers will give the Spartans all they can handle.
