2. Cassius Winston averages 20-plus points

On the year, Cassius Winston is averaging 18.5 points per game and he’s shooting the lights out, making 46 percent from 3-point range and 49 percent from the floor. He’s having a heck of a year, putting up career-bests and he’s even topped the 1,000-point mark for his career.

It’s not going to stop there.

If you thought the first month of Big Ten play was special for the junior point guard, you haven’t seen anything yet. Winston has put the team on his back multiple times, including a near-comeback against Purdue, but he’s going to average 20-plus points per game — close to 22 — and he’ll nearly get his season average up to 20.

When speaking of Big Ten Player of the Year candidates, there may be no other option as the month of February ends. Winston will hold on to that top spot as he puts up 20 points in five of seven games and averages 22 for the month.

Winston will shoot about 46 percent from beyond the arc and 50 percent from the floor while averaging 7.5 assists and 2.4 turnovers.
