3. Michigan State shoots 45 percent from 3-point range

Just one game after going just 6-of-26 from the 3-point line, Michigan State bounced back to make 42 percent of its shots from distance on Thursday night at Iowa.

For the second consecutive game, Michigan State will make at least 40 percent of their shots from distance and I’ll even go one step further and say the Spartans will fall just short of the 50 percent mark, making around 45 percent — 9-of-20 makes seems about right.

Michigan State doesn’t necessarily need to settle for threes against the Boilermakers since they have a size advantage down low and an upper hand in terms of aggression, but the crisp passing will lead to open shots and guys like Cassius Winston, Matt McQuaid, Gabe Brown, Aaron Henry and Kyle Ahrens, if healthy, will make them.

Heck, Kenny Goins is almost a lock to shoot a few threes because he’s left open quite a bit and he may make one, or two.

The Spartans will get a nice offensive boost from the 3-point line and that’s something that can help silence the raucous Mackey Arena crowd.
