3. Aaron Henry is looking more like a starter

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been hard on Aaron Henry this season. The freshman wing has all the tools to be a great player in the Big Ten, but he has played out of control and it seems as if he’s had a tough time adjusting to the collegiate level in terms of speed.

No, I’m not calling him slow or unathletic as he’s neither of those things, but rather he seemed like a kid who wasn’t ready for the type of speed he’s seen at this level.

That was until the past couple of games.

Even though Kyle Ahrens returned, Henry remained in the starting lineup for the third straight game and looked like a guy who fit right into that spot. He played 26 minutes, scoring 12 points with six rebounds and four assists and made 6-of-7 shots from the floor, including a thunderous dunk in the first half.

Henry looks like a kid who could mold into a solid starter for this team in Josh Langford’s absence and a future star with the program.

We are seeing a kid blossom into a key player before our very eyes.
