Michigan State Basketball: 5 bold predictions for crucial Big Ten battle vs. Purdue
1. Another double-digit win for the Spartans
In four Big Ten contests this season — two against ranked opponents — the Spartans have wins over Iowa, Northwestern and Rutgers by double-digits and Ohio State by nine. On average, the Spartans are beating Big Ten foes by 17 points — that’s an incredible number with two ranked foes and two road games already in the rearview mirror.
There’s still a long way to go, but not many teams from around the nation are playing as well as the Spartans are right now and with Nick Ward and Cassius Winston playing at Big Ten Player of the Year levels, the absence of Josh Langford won’t affect this outcome either.
Matt McQuaid and Kyle Ahrens have been playing well with Langford out and Gabe Brown will chip in a couple of 3-pointers off the bench and the Spartans will secure their fourth double-digit Big Ten win of the season.
Marcus Bingham Jr. will finally see the floor again, Xavier Tillman will have a career game, Foster Loyer is going to actually shoot the ball and the Spartans will dominate from start to finish.
Michigan State and Purdue usually have some good battles, but this one will be all green and white.
