4. LJ Scott has chance to go out on high note

No one wants to finish the 2018 season on a high note more than LJ Scott. That may actually be slightly false as Brian Lewerke needs a bit of redemption, but there aren’t many players who will be as hungry as Scott or the junior quarterback from Arizona.

Scott has played in just four games this season and the last came two months ago in a winning effort versus Purdue. He has just 180 rushing yards and no touchdowns on 55 carries this season and has struggled to gain any traction in his four appearances. He was expected to be the workhorse back this season for the first time in his career and he couldn’t stay healthy.

Flashes were shown — such as the Holiday Bowl last year — throughout his career of a potential star running back, but he was never truly given the entire workload.

The Redbox Bowl will be his opportunity to shine for one final time in a Michigan State uniform as he’s elected to burn his redshirt and enter the NFL draft following the season. He is hungry to improve his draft stock and go out on a high note, leaving a good taste in everyone’s mouths and a footprint on the program — even if just a small one.
