4. Justin Herbert will fail to reach 250 yards

This one isn’t exactly an inconceivable prediction as Justin Herbert has failed to reach the 250-yard mark through the air four times this season. Though he was considered an option for the No. 1 overall pick, he did struggle a couple of times this year, most notably against Washington and Arizona.

Has Herbert faced a defense as strong as Michigan State’s? Washington’s was up there, but outside of the Huskies, not many compared to what he’s going to see on Monday.

The Spartans will get after Herbert up front thanks to pushes from Kenny Willekes, Raequan Williams and Mike Panasiuk and Mike Tressel will send plenty of blitzes his way. Moreover, Josiah Scott will have himself the perfect game to end the season and Josh Butler will play just well enough on the other side to hold the Spartans over.

Michigan State’s defense will step up and force Herbert into some uncomfortable situations and collapse the pocket on him.

Herbert will finish the day with a 55 percent completion rate and 230 passing yards with two touchdowns and two picks.
