4. Strong finish to 2019 recruiting class

If the 2019 recruiting class ended today, Michigan State would have one of the top-30 groups in the country. The Spartans have 18 signees already and there’s one more coming in February when Alante Brown makes it official — he didn’t sign early for unspecified reasons.

The Spartans didn’t close out on early signing day like they had hoped, missing out on guys like Jordan Huff, Cavon Butler and Keith Randolph, but the green and white could have better luck later in the winter with a strong finish to the class.

Sure, a top-30 class is nice and all, but why not aim for one in the top-25 or top-20? It may not be attainable with the amount of spots left for the Spartans as well as targets left on the board, but even finishing with a surprise or two as well as signing Brown would be ideal. No more signing day meltdowns.

I’ll take this wish one step further and say that the Spartans should kick off the 2020 class with a bang and sit in the top-three or four in the Big Ten by next early signing day.
