2. Offense is firing on all cylinders

Michigan State’s offense is playing as well as it has all year. Though the Spartans scored just 63 points on the road against a tough Florida defense just a few games ago, they have been lights out in just about every other contest dating back to the Louisville loss.

Turnovers were cut in half, assists were aplenty, fast-break points came easily, conditioning is at an all-time high and shots were dropping. Michigan State couldn’t miss, it seemed, as it finished with 99 points, just missing the 100-mark which would have been the fourth such scoring outburst this season — would have been 33 percent of its games.

Not only did the Spartans score 99 — they could have hit the 100-mark, but reserves came in relatively early — but they shot 59 percent from the floor and 43 percent from long-range.

Cassius Winston was two points shy of his career-high and the only other double-digit scorers were Nick Ward (who is 34 for his last 38 field goals) and Josh Langford.

The scoring was spread out as 14 — not a typo — different Spartans hit the scoring column. This team is firing on all cylinders right now.
