Check Back in Three Years: Michael Fletcher, DE

Although I think he could have an instant impact for the Spartans, Michael Fletcher is one of those kids who could be a star three years down the line. Sometimes these “check back in three years” categories are meant for guys who seemed to be “reaches” who could either surprise or never see the field three years down the line, but not this time.

Fletcher, from Flint, Mich., is one of those kids who has earned high praise from the coaching staff and who could be a star for the green and white by his junior season.

Michigan State may not have a huge need for him instantly with Kenny Willekes potentially returning for his senior year despite an All-American season and Jacub Panasiuk back as a junior, but he could work his way into the regular playing rotation.

Mark Dantonio has compared the four-star defensive end to former five-star William Gholston and that’s as high of praise as you can get.

Will we see a team captain and All-American three years down the line?
