This may be the most exciting player Mark Dantonio has snagged since LJ Scott back in 2015. Julian Barnett, a four-star from Belleville, Mich., is one of the most skilled players in the 2019 class and he could be a player on both sides of the ball for Michigan State.

Barnett is lethal with the ball in his hands as the highlights with him picking passes off or returning punts and kicks show him with great vision and he can even play receiver. He’s a smart player with athleticism through the roof.

There was chatter before he committed to Michigan State that he could end up at Notre Dame or Ohio State, but the Spartans landed the four-star from nearby Belleville who happens to be teammates with fellow pledge Devontae Dobbs.

Barnett was a huge get and he could see time right away with Justin Layne leaving early for the NFL and an open spot for competition at corner.

Mark Dantonio has to feel lucky to get this kid who can do a little of everything. He’s listed as the No. 62 player in the class and eighth-best cornerback, according to 247Sports.
