Can Michigan State football still land former commit Jordan Huff, a three-star athlete from Georgia? He was back on campus this weekend.

Theres always that one recruit that gets away in each cycle. For Michigan State, it has to be Jordan Huff, a three-star athlete from Georgia, in the 2019 class as he decommitted from the Spartans back in June.

Just a couple of months later, the Georgia-native committed to nearby Georgia Tech, staying close to home — something that seemed important to him after he decommitted.

Over the weekend, though, the three-star athlete made a trip to East Lansing and pictures of that trip surfaced on Twitter.

Huff took a trip with Spencer Brown, a three-star tackle commit, to Michigan State for the weekend as the pledge — one of the leaders of the class — is trying to help flip him from Georgia Tech.

The fact that he’s on a visit to East Lansing must mean that Michigan State once again has a serious shot with the athlete and he may have seen Justin Layne declare for the NFL draft shortly after Yellow Jacket head coach Paul Johnson stepped down. The fact that there’s a coaching change at Georgia Tech means that Huff could want a staff with some consistency — MSU offers just that.

So is this a serious possibility? Seems that way. Plus, Sean Scherer put in a Crystal Ball for Huff to Michigan State on Sunday. His pick is locked on 247Sports, but there have only been two predictions and the other expert chose Tennessee for Huff back in July.

This would be huge for the staff who is bringing in only Julian Barnett at the cornerback position in 2019. Huff, a 6-2, 185-pound defensive back, can play both corner and safety at the next level and maybe even some receiver.

Mark Dantonio and Michigan State may be working some last-minute magic on Huff like they did with three-star quarterback Payton Thorne.
