2. Josh Langford approaches 30 points — again

Coming off his best performance of the year and potentially the most impressive outing of his career, Josh Langford has to be flying high. The junior wing gains so much confidence from seeing his shots fall, and they were doing just that, especially in the final 20 minutes, against Texas.

Langford caught fire and accounted for 29 points after being blanked in the first 10 minutes of the game. He was firing on all cylinders and no Texas defender’s hands in his face could even slow him down.

It’s one thing to hit open shots, but Langford was heat-checking all game long with hands in his face and he made it look effortless with his smooth jumper. He’s had quite the season thus far, filling in for Miles Bridges’ lead-scoring role.

The heat will carry over into the Big Ten/ACC Challenge as his confidence is still sky-high.

Unlike the Texas contest, Langford will start this one strong with a couple of early 3-pointers and a drive to the hoop with an and-one. He’ll have 13 points at the half and he’ll double up on that in the final 20 minutes to finish just shy of 30 yet again.

If the Spartans can continue to get 20-plus points from Langford, they’re going to be difficult to beat.
