4. Spartans force five turnovers
Rutgers is one of the worst teams in college football when it comes to protecting the ball, as evidenced by the Scarlet Knights’ starting quarterback Artur Sitkowski’s 18 interceptions thrown. He has been nothing short of disastrous under center for Rutgers, throwing just four touchdown passes and more than four-times as many picks.
The Scarlet Knights rank 126th in the country in turnover margin per game at a pitiful -1.2 while they have a nation-worst -2.5 margin per game on the road.
Michigan State will take full advantage, forcing five turnovers from the Scarlet Knights — three interceptions and two fumbles.
Joe Bachie and Andrew Dowell will each force fumbles and the Spartans will recover while Josiah Scott will record his first pick of the year, Justin Layne will add one and Khari Willis will go out strong, finishing his last game at Spartan Stadium with an interception.
These five picks should be enough defense for the Spartans as the offense will only need to score a touchdown or two to come away victorious.
