2. Rocky Lombardi starts, reaches 300 total yards

I’m going out on a limb here — even though it shouldn’t be that bold to predict this, but sadly it is — and saying that Rocky Lombardi will get the start over an injured (don’t care what the coaching staff says — he’s hurt) Brian Lewerke.

With Lombardi starting his second game of the season, he’ll be playing against an even worse defense. The Cornhuskers haven’t been able to stop anyone and that’ll continue.

Lombardi will get the start and pass for over 250 yards while rushing for another 50. He’ll show off his cannon for an arm and he’ll finally hit some of those deep passes that he’s been just off with.

Michigan State just needs to ride the Lombardi train from this point on as to not further risk injury to Lewerke’s throwing shoulder. He hasn’t been right, and it’s obvious to everyone but the coaching staff, apparently.

They’ll make the smart decision on Saturday and it’ll pay huge dividends with 300-plus total yards for Lombardi, setting the Spartans’ offense up nicely.
