Rebounding: A-

You can’t be mad at the Spartans’ rebounding performance as they dominated the glass even without their top rebounded in Nick Ward.

The junior big man played just four minutes and still managed to snag three boards, but it was Xavier Tillman and Kenny Goins were the biggest contributors in this category. Tillman grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds and Goins added his best of 15. The two combined for 28 while the Warhawks, as a team, finished with 37.

The rebounding by Michigan State’s guards continued to be impressive as Cassius Winston added five boards and Josh Langford and Matt McQuaid each had two. When he’s on, Langford can approach 10 rebounds.

Aaron Henry, Thomas Kithier and Marcus Bingham Jr. each added two as the Spartans got contributions from just about everyone on the glass.

The offensive rebounding was successful, with 15 boards to just eight from ULM, while the Spartans had 36 defensive rebounds to the Warhawks’ 29. A strong night on the glass and the Spartans just flexed their muscle on the smaller, weaker opponent.
