Michigan State Basketball: 5 bold predictions vs. Louisiana-Monroe
3. Cassius Winston reaches 20 points
Through two games, Cassius Winston has been fairly passive, but he’s still managed to average 13.5 points. He’s going to take charge on the offensive end more in this one, scoring 20 points for the first time on the season.
The last time Winston reached the 20-point mark? You’d have to go all the way back to the Spartans’ regular season finale against Wisconsin on the road. His 20 points were crucial for the Spartans in the road effort as they escaped with a five-point victory in Madison.
Winston will find his stroke early on against the Warhawks, hitting four 3-pointers in the first half and then two more in the final 20 minutes. He’ll drive to the bucket more, which is what Spartan fans are desperate to see, and even draw a few fouls with an and-one, or two, thrown in.
The junior point guard will not only score 20-plus points for the first time this season and fourth time in his career, but he’ll also approach the 10-assist mark.
