3. Josh Langford proved he can be a No. 1 option

Before the season, there was some concern about developing a go-to player with Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr. both off in the NBA.

Could Josh Langford actually be that guy? So far, he’s been awfully consistent, scoring 18 points against both Kansas and Florida Gulf Coast, driving to the basket as well as looking for his own shot around the perimeter instead of passing it up.

There’s less hesitancy in his game this season and that’s exactly what this Michigan State team needed. Not only is he playing aggressively with the ball in his hands, but fellow captain Matt McQuaid, too, is taking shots he normally wouldn’t and driving to the bucket.

Langford has the ability to score from anywhere on the floor and even on a night when his 3-point shot wasn’t falling (1-for-7), he went 7-of-15 from the field and was 3-for-3 from the charity stripe.

Oh, and he showed his ups, grabbing 10 rebounds from the wing.

Langford is starting to show he can be a No. 1 option on the offensive side of the ball.
