Jan. 24: at Iowa

A Thursday night showdown between the Hawkeyes and the Spartans looks to spell trouble for the Spartans. However, a healthier Michigan State squad outscores Iowa in a high scoring game to come out of Iowa City with a seven-point victory.

Prediction: Victory for MSU (17-3, 8-1)

Jan. 27: at Purdue

Every season, it appears that the Big Ten schedules a week of games for the Spartans that does not do them any favors and every season it appears Michigan State loses by double-digits on the road to a quality Big Ten foe. Sunday afternoon game at Mackey Arena is ideal for the Boilermakers as the crowd is ready to turn up the volume as Michigan State loses by 17.

Prediction: Loss (17-4, 8-2)

Feb. 2: vs. Indiana

With College GameDay in town, the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the Big Ten standings face off for a Saturday night showdown. The fans will have their fork down signs and the Izzone will be live and loud cheering on the Spartans to an eight-point victory.

Prediction: Victory for MSU (18-4, 9-2)

Feb. 5: at Illinois

Playing on the road against Illinois is never easy and the Orange Crush student section will be looking for an upset but the Fighting Illini are a year or two away in terms of competing against the top tier teams in the Big Ten. Nick Ward overcomes three first-half fouls and gets a critical and one to give the Spartans a tough hard-fought road victory.

Prediction: Victory for MSU (19-4, 10-2)
