Jan. 13: at Penn State
The perfect storm comes crashing on the Spartans as nagging injuries deplete the team’s depth, a bad snow storm delays the team’s flight out and overlooking the Nittany Lions gives Michigan State its first Big Ten loss as they fall to Penn State by six.
Prediction: Loss (14-3, 5-1)
Jan. 17: at Nebraska
After the surprise loss to Penn State, the green and white fan base is thrown into a frenzy doubting the team’s chances of back-to-back Big Ten regular season titles and going on social media and message boards suggesting that Tom Izzo retire. However, Michigan State comes out ready to play and wins by 11 behind Matt McQuaid’s six made 3-pointers.
Prediction: Victory for MSU (15-3, 6-1)
Jan. 21: vs. Maryland
Michigan State usually plays the Terps really well at home. Coach Tom Izzo during the practices leading to the game emphasized diving for loose balls and hustling for rebounds. Look for Kenny Goins to have his best game of the season as Michigan State beats Maryland by 20-plus points.
Prediction: Victory for MSU (16-3, 7-1)
