Michigan State Basketball: Game-by-game predictions for 2018-19

Jan. 2: vs. Northwestern

In the first game of 2019, Michigan State resumes Big Ten play as they welcome in the Wildcats. Some are predicting that Northwestern will finish in the top half of the Big Ten standings. They may be right and this should be a pretty decent Wildcat team but Michigan State clamps down defensively and wins by 12.

Prediction: Victory for MSU (12-2, 3-0)

Jan 5: at Ohio State

Michigan State has had trouble playing at Ohio State later in the season and Ohio State beat the Spartans handily in Columbus last season. Not this season though, Michigan State remembers what happened last time they visited the Buckeye State and the green and white but on a clinic surprisingly lead by freshman Aaron Henry.

Prediction: Victory for MSU (13-2, 4-0)

Jan. 8: vs. Purdue

The first overtime game of this season happens for the Spartans as the Boilermakers come in wanting revenge for last season. However, Joshua Langford hits two key free throws to give the Spartans the victory.

Prediction: Victory for MSU (14-2, 5-0)
