1. The Spartans are getting healthier

Brian Lewerke may be on his way back — though the staff would be wise to keep him out one more game and ready for Ohio State — and Cody White is traveling with the team. Josiah Scott, too, will be available for the Spartans on Saturday afternoon and LJ Scott is back for his third consecutive week since his early-season injury.

The Spartans are getting healthier, and that’s bad news for the remainder of the teams on their schedule.

The most important positions would be on the offensive line, but it doesn’t look like Michigan State will be getting Matt Allen or David Beedle back just yet. Still, these skill positions will aid an offense looking for an identity — especially White.

Felton Davis III going down with an injury swiped a No. 1 receiver from the Spartans, especially with White already injured. Getting him back gives the green and white a true No. 1 wide out — a distinction he will likely hold for the next 2-3 years.

Michigan State will be getting some key pieces back on both sides of the ball against the Terrapins and it’s starting to hit its stride — especially defensively.
