4. Distractions for the Terps

How much can distractions truly affect a team? Just ask Tom Izzo. His Spartan basketball team dealt with distraction after distraction during the 2017-18 season and they seemed worn down by the time March rolled around, getting knocked out in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Reinstating a controversial head coach, having players walk out of a team meeting, seeing some players get into physical altercations and firing that same coach will come with its downfalls. Not many teams can put up with those type of distractions throughout a season, but the Terrapins dealt with this in a single week.

This could either bring these players closer together or divide the locker room between DJ Durkin supporters and those who are happy he’s gone.

The game following this madness will likely be messy, and that will benefit the green and white. Michigan State will handle business against a team trying to stay afloat.
