3. Brian Lewerke returns for final three games, goes off

Though I don’t believe Brian Lewerke will be back starting against Maryland, I do truly think that he’s the team’s No. 1 quarterback no matter what happens with Rocky Lombardi against the Terrapins. Whenever Lewerke is ready and healthy, he has the No. 1 job waiting for him.

The Spartans will get Lewerke back for the Ohio State game at 100 percent (finally) and don’t think he’s forgotten last year’s performance against the Buckeyes where he was less than impressive in a 48-3 drubbing. He’ll get his form of revenge this time around in East Lansing.

Lewerke will surpass 300 yards and three touchdowns against the Buckeyes and he’ll carry that over into the final two regular season games against Rutgers and Nebraska.

For the final three games of the year, everyone will realize just why the coaching staff shrugs off the idea of a quarterback controversy. He’s the team’s starting quarterback and he’ll prove that in the Spartans’ final stretch.

It’s been an up-and-down year for Lewerke, but it’ll end on a high note.
