3. David Blough struggles

Coming off arguably the best and most memorable game of his career, David Blough may suffer a letdown against Michigan State. There’s something about coming off a career game and trying to replicate that each time out that gets quarterbacks in trouble.

More from Spartans Football

Blough will try to replicate his Ohio State performance against the Spartans and he’ll make mistakes while trying to force some throws. The Spartan defense will capitalize with two picks.

Michigan State’s pass defense has improved over the course of the season and played well, for the most part, against the Wolverines last week outside of a long touchdown pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones. Those are the types of plays that must be eliminated with Rondale Moore — basically follow the same game plan they had to stop KJ Hamler of Penn State.

The Spartans will have a solid game against Blough defensively, holding him to under 250 yards for the first time since Week 2 when he wasn’t officially the starter yet.

Michigan State’s defense will be the key in this one.
