2. Brian Lewerke will become more of a runner

The 2018 season hasn’t quite gotten off to an ideal start for Brian Lewerke. The junior quarterback has been consistently inconsistent, showing flashes in each game, but never really putting a full 60 minutes together.

Moreover, his turnovers have become a real issue. He has thrown seven interceptions to just eight touchdowns, matching his pick total from all of last season. Sure, some of those have been tipped off his receiver and into the waiting arms of defenders, but he still must make better decisions.

The game must slow down for Lewerke, and it starts with him getting some confidence back. The stem of his confidence-boost in a breakout 2017 season? His legs.

The coaching staff must realize that and on Saturday, he’ll become more of a running quarterback than he has been all season. It’ll feel like 2017 all over again as he’ll take off more often when he pocket collapses and he’ll make those quick decisions.

Expect a strong rushing performance from Lewerke, potentially leading the Spartans in yards on the ground. This will keep Michigan’s defense guessing all game long.
