Michigan State basketball is playing host to one of its most important 2019 targets in five-star center Isaiah Stewart as he’s on his official.

Three officials down and one more critical visit coming this weekend as Isaiah Stewart narrows things down and moves closer to a decision.

Michigan State has moved into a good spot with the five-star center from Rochester, N.Y., who has transferred to finish his high school ball at La Lumiere. Many believe the Spartans have moved to the top of his list and if that’s the case, this weekend could seal the deal for him.

Making a trip to East Lansing for his fourth official, which could be his last depending on if he wants to use his fifth, Stewart knows that he’ll likely be close to a decision.

What’s good about this visit? This is arguably the most exciting weekend of the year for Michigan State athletics with Michigan coming to town and a host of football and basketball recruits coming to campus. Tom Izzo is using this excitement as an opportunity to sway Stewart to the green and white and there’s a good chance he’s close to sealing the deal.

If you’ve followed the 247Sports‘ Crystal Ball over the past few weeks, you would have seen the tides completely shift in Michigan State’s favor. The Spartans are now the favorites to land him, surpassing Duke.

Stewart is also listed as the No. 5 player in the class and third-best center.

Should we be on commit watch this weekend? It may be too soon for that as Stewart may still spend that last official visit, but it’s possible this is the trip that makes him feel like he’s at “home” with the Spartans.

This is the most important visit of the weekend, football or basketball recruit-wise, and Izzo needs to knock this out of the park.
