3. First Felton Davis III TD

Down seven midway through the third quarter, Michigan State was driving and it needed to score a touchdown rather than settle for a field goal. With Penn State’s offense being able to score at will in 2018, Mark Dantonio didn’t want to take any chances of being down by two scores in the second half if the Nittany Lions were able to add a touchdown.

At the Penn State 20-yard-line on first down, Brian Lewerke dropped back, saw Felton Davis III’s defender slip and he hit him on a ball at the corner of the end zone.

The throw wasn’t perfect for a receiver who was wide open, but it got the job done and tied the game 14-14 with a quarter and a half to play.

The Spartans used this touchdown catch as momentum, at least on the defensive side of the ball and if you were watching the game, you’d realize this still isn’t the best play involving Lewerke and Davis III from Saturday.
